At Yarra Bend Golf you have the option to select from 14 PGA professionals. We offer a number of different coaching formats, including; one on one instruction, group clinics for beginners, short game classes and junior golf classes.

Our Head Club Fitter, Adam, is a fully accredited PGA Professional who has been working in the golf industry for the past 7 years. He’s spent time both coaching and club fitting & has a strong passion for helping golfers reach their full potential. Adam is easy going and a great communicator, ensuring you get the most out of your fitting session.

Ever wanted to see actual ball flight during a club fitting?
Here at Yarra Bend Golf, we have a full length, flood lit driving range that uses premium range balls. Ball flight data is the most important aspect of club fitting, so being able to see the ball in flight, combined with data collected on our Trackman, our club fitters can see the entire picture and make shaft and head recommendations based on this. We also have access to a premium grass tee to capture turf interaction and our short game area for wedge fittings.

Steve Bann is a partner in Bann Lynch McDade in Australia. Bann Lynch Mcdade is the only School, Academy or Program in the World to take 7 teenagers to the World’s top 50 ranking. The Bann Lynch Mcdade team have coached their students to 18 US PGA Tour Web.com wins and 29 US PGA Tour wins and multiple International amateur and professional titles.
After turning professional in 1979, Steven played on the Australian PGA Tour from 1981 to 1996. In 1990 Steve was appointed the founding Head Coach of the Victorian Institute of Sport. Since 1996 Steve has traveled the World coaching his students who included Stuart Appleby, KJ Choi, Robert Allenby, Cameron Percy, Nick Flanagan, Hee Young Park, Jennifer Johnson and Danny Lee.
Steve has coached at over 40 majors including 19 US Masters and 6 Presidents Cups. Along the journey Steve has given lessons to many notables including, Ian Baker Finch, Mark O’Meara, Wayne Grady, Greg Norman, Vijay Singh and Adam Scott.
Achievements:
Some of Steve’s accolades include being awarded 2006 Victorian PGA coach of the year, 2007 Golf Digest coach of the year. 2010 Australian PGA coach of the year. Nominated to the World Golf Hall of Fame by Australian PGA 2011, Ranked 12th most influential person in Australian golf from the past 40 Years by Australian Golf Digest. Steve has written 4 golf instruction books, one of which, ‘Simply Golf Back to Basics’ sold 300K copies Worldwide. Steve’s most recent publication is a free e-book on confidence, www.GolfConfidenceTraining.com www.PureGolfTraining.com.
Currently, Steve is a co- director of Bann Lynch, McDade, which operates at Yarra Bend Golf in Melbourne Australia and teaching professional at Kingston Heath Golf Club.

Dale Lynch is one of three principal directors at BannLynchMcDade and is widely recognised as one of the world’s best golf coaches. Dale has been a member of the PGA of Australia for almost 30 years. He played on the Australian Tour for seven years and coached at the Victorian Institute of Sport from its inception. Dale was named Victorian PGA Coach of the Year in 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000, as well as the 2006 Australian Golf Digest Coach of the Year.
Dale has spent most of his career coaching on the US PGA Tour, but is now back in Australia helping golfers of all abilities reach their potential.

Dale has coached some of the world’s best players including US Open Winner Geoff Ogilvy, Aaron Baddeley, Kevin Na, Arjun Atwal, Mathew Goggin, Kyle Thompson, Steve Allan, and David McKenzie.

Denis is one of three principal directors at BannLynchMcDade and has been a part of the team since 1996. He turned professional in 1986 and played competitively in Australia for a number of years before becoming a full time coach. He was the Scholarship Coach at the Australian Institute of Sport Golf Program for two years and spent eleven years at the Victorian Institute of Sport Golf Program, five as Assistant Coach and six as Head Coach.
Graduates of the VIS Golf Program include Stuart Appleby, Robert Allenby, Geoff Ogilvy, Aaron Baddeley, Marcus Fraser, Jarrod Lyle, and Marc Leishman.
Denis spends a number of weeks each year traveling around the world working with his players and presenting at certification seminars with the Titleist Performance Institute. Denis specialises in developing holistic golf improvement programs. Denis is recognised as one of the world’s leading golf coaches.
Achievements:
Denis’ players have won on the PGA Tours of Europe, Japan, Australia, Korea, and the US Nationwide Tour. They include Marc Leishman (US PGA Tour), Marcus Fraser (European PGA Tour), Paul Sheehan (Japan PGA Tour), Ashley Hall, and Matthew Griffin (Asian PGA Tour).
Denis is a Senior Advisory Board Member of the Titleist Performance Institute, based in Oceanside, California. In addition he is Head of TPI’s Junior Advisory Board. Denis was voted 2017’s Australian Coach of the Year, Victorian PGA Teacher of the Year in 2016 and 2001, and Australian Golf Digest Coach of the Year in 2008.

Peter is one of only four Master Professionals with the Australian PGA. He has over 35 years of coaching experience, including 25 years successfully coaching at State and National level as well as driving golf programmes for the Australian Institute of Sport, Golf Australia, Taiwan Golf, Golf Victoria, NSW Golf and NSW Institute of Sport.
Peter utilises his skills and knowledge to deliver meaningful results to all golfers who are really serious about the development of their own games, regardless of their current level.In 2012 he was one of three coaches in Victoria recognised for his contribution to coaching in Australia over the past 100 years.

Michael has extensive experience as a professional golf coach, having coached for over 15 years. Michael began his coaching career working as the assistant professional at Royal Melbourne Golf Club before joining BannLynchMcDade in 2005.
Michael works with golfers of all levels of ability from beginners to elites. He has coached a number of junior golfers who have been selected as state and national representatives.
Michael tries to keep things as simple as possible and communicates in a way that makes the golf swing easy to understand. He places a strong emphasis on clients enjoying their lessons.

Andrew has been part of the BannLynchMcDade team since 1999.
After getting his Diploma in Recreation / Sports Coaching in 1998, Andrew decided to follow his interest in golf and coaching and undertake the PGA 3 year traineeship.
Pitty completed his traineeship in 2001 under the guidance of the principle BannLynchMcDade coaches. Andrew is coach to star amateurs Gabi Ruffels and Alizza Hetherington. Gabi has represented Australia internationally and Alizza was the winner of the 2016 Girls Victorian Junior Championship and 2016 Women’s Victorian Amateur Championship.
Andrew’s coaching philosophy has been strongly shaped by the proven BannLynchMcDade methodology. Andrew places a teaching emphasis on continual development of all facets of a player’s game, regardless of level of ability.
Playing Achievements
Andrew played golf full time on the Australasian Tour , Canadian Tour, and also competed on the Asian Tour. Andrew was the winner of the 2006 Western Australian PGA.

Yoyo is the newest member of the BannLynchMcDade team. Always the consummate professional, Yoyo is an exceptional communicator with proficiencies in English and Mandarin. With a sound understanding of her craft, Yoyo’s engaging lesson style and interpersonal skills help her communicate the complexities of the golf swing in a simple and digestible way. Yoyo’s clients are regularly impressed by her level of knowledge and ability to adapt her coaching style to the needs of the individual. Kevin is both an experienced player and coach who has been a full member of the Australian PGA since 1999.
After completing his traineeship, he was a teaching professional at Box Hill Golf Club and also a coach for Women’s Golf Victoria by co-ordinating their “Golf in Schools” program across metropolitan Melbourne, whilst balancing a playing career in Victorian and interstate events.
Kevin then joined BannLynchMcDade, before operating his own Golf Academy for the next 12 years and in 2013 returned to BannLynchMcDade at Yarra Bend Golf.
Kevin works with all golfers ranging from beginner to advanced levels with his simple, but effective approach and his vast set of coaching skills that are heavily influenced by the BannLynchMcDade methodology. He believes that golf is challenging but not impossible, and it should be fun!
Playing highlights:
Kevin has a handicap of +1 and career best round of -6 under par. He achieved his first hole in one in 2006 at Rosanna Golf Club and most recently qualified for the 2012 VIC Open and 2013 VIC PGA.

James Hartley is an accomplished coach and player, who has been an Australian PGA Member since 2009 and a coach at Yarra Bend Golf since 2011.
James works with golfers of all skill level and ability, from novice to elite. With a refined coaching knowledge, shaped by the BannLynchMcDade methodology and close to a decades experience, James’ message to all golfers is clear – golf should be challenging, social, gratifying, and most importantly fun!
Junior Development:
As the Coordinator of Yarra Bend Junior Golf, James is committed to the development of junior golf. James has strong communication skills and the ability to make junior golfer’s feel comfortable and at ease quickly. Regardless of level of ability, James ensures that the juniors that enter into the BannLynchMcDade Program have a fantastic experience.

Aaron is committed to coaching golfers of all levels from rank beginner through to the professional (and even the occasional celebrity – see videos)!
Aaron has been a BannLynchMcDade coach for the past 6 years, developing his knowledge and experience under the BannLynchMcDade methodology. Aaron is also a proud TaylorMade ambassador.
Aaron has a great ability to build rapport with his clients immediately, due to his friendly nature and ability to explain technical aspects of the golf swing in simple terms.
Aaron’s teaching philosophy is grounded in the principle of simplicity. Aaron believes that most of the time, clear understandable explanations and improvement drills, are all that is required to help a student find their pathway towards improvement. Wanasa is the newest addition to Team BannLynchMcdade and currently assisting with instruction of the Yarra Bend Junior Program.
Wanasa has twelve years of playing experience from junior to the professional level. During her professional career, Wanasa competed worldwide on LPGA Symetra Tour, ALPG and CLPGA. In college, Wanasa represented the University of Arizona in NCAA events and currently holds the record of the lowest tournament score in school history with a personal best of 65.
Previously residing in the US, Wanasa has returned with Level 3 Golf, Level 2 Junior & Level 2 Fitness certifications from the Titleist Performance Institution. With a well-rounded knowledge and experience in all aspect of golf instructions, combined with personal playing experience, Wanasa can tailor teaching to golfers of all skill level and ability. In addition, Wanasa is fluent in both English and Mandarin, which enables her to communicate effectively to clients.

Ryan Lynch is a touring professional, currently playing on the Australasian PGA Tour. He’s played professional tournaments on the European, Asian, OneAsia, Japanese and Australasian Tours.
Far from being just a great professional golfer, Ryan is a committed coach with a desire to help golfers reach their potential and enjoy the game more.
Ryan is the son of Dale Lynch, a Principal Director of BannLynchMcDade and world-renowned golf coach. Over many years, Ryan has been exposed to the thinking of some of the best players and coaches in the world, which has helped develop and refine his teaching philosophy.
When meeting Ryan you will be greeted by a fun-loving and happy person to be around – always with a smile on his face. Ryan will make any coaching experience easy and enjoyable!
